Arthur C. Clarke, Dead at Age 90...

The last of the "Big 3" sci-fi authors has died at the age of 90...

Arthur C. Clarke is probably the most influential sci-fi writer the world has known. His description of orbital radio relay satellites eventually came to fruition and created the globe-spanning communications network which has made possible the modern world we know today.

From the London Times Article:
"Marking his “90th orbit of the sun” in December, the author said he did not feel "a day over 89" and made three birthday wishes: for ET to call, for man to kick his oil habit and for peace in Sri Lanka. "

When You Listen to Fools...

...The Mob Rules!

One of the greatest things to happen in the 1980's was the release of the animated feature, Heavy Metal.

The movie, based on stories from the magazine of the same name, teamed animation by some of the best animators of of the day with a soundtrack by some of the biggest names in Rock.

(My favorites from the soundtrack include "Veteran of Psychic Wars" by Blue Oyster Cult, "The Mob Rules" by Black Sabbath, "True Companion" by Donald Fagen and "Blue Lamp" by Stevie Nicks)

Anyway, Paramount is set to remake Heavy Metal...Possibly in 3D!
